Is the Filthy Rich Writer Copywriting Course Legit?  - Learned Bear (2024)

Disclaimer – Affiliate Links Included in this Blog.

We’re open and honest here at Learned Bear. This article contains affiliate links, which means we earn a commission should you sign up to use any services or products using some of the links in this blog. However, as with everything we feature, we use this product, which is all first-hand experience.

Today I’m wearing my Learned Bear and Outline Copy hats for a topic that connects both platforms. Outline Copy is an official member of the Learned Bear Group, so there will be plenty of crossover between our websites. We’ll look at the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy in more detail, focusing on how this might benefit aspiring writers or anyone looking to create an online business. And a massive emphasis on this being a viable path to starting a business.

Whenever a new product or service appears from the crowd, the question arises: is this legit? You’ll no doubt be looking for clues when searching Google’s snippets for answers. From personal experience, the answer is a firm YES. But there’s a lot underneath the surface regarding the opportunities you can enjoy from completing it. The main advantage is you’ll learn everything needed to start a copywriting venture, and that’s why we consider it worthy of further investigation.

A Copywriter’s Perspective: I Use It Daily –

The obvious place to start is often the most suitable one; let’s go over some background information. Filthy Rich Writer is the merchant, and the official course title is the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy. You can read here to get further information on Filthy Rich Writer for additional context. Other than to confirm their customer service is exemplary, I’ll leave you to learn more about them.

As the subheading title denotes, I use the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy course almost daily. But what does that mean? Admittedly, it’s a bit vague without understanding the content and features. Learned Bear has a lot of copy needs, so I often refer to the course information when tackling something new.

In addition to providing learners with a foundation course, Comprehensive Copywriting Academy has a number of add-on modules. Most will equip you with business-ready techniques. That’s the real bonus of this course: you’re starting a business rather than simply upskilling. By the finish, you’ll have a functioning website (your responsibility), a portfolio with spec examples, and a strategy for seeking freelance work.

Leveraging the Cost by Copywriting –

It goes without saying that if you’re looking for quality educational content, it’s rarely for free. That’s why I’m always cautious when I see marketers offer freebies unless they’re transparent with an upsell. If you put in the work, you’ll complete the course with an online business venture, which will include a website and portfolio. And an invaluable range of new skills to apply, such as how to pitch and price your services.

Learned Bear has stated this on numerous occasions – don’t pay for courses with a credit card attitude. You should only spend money you can afford to lose, much like the day trader adage. Yes, it’s an investment in your future, but not when it creates a deficit. With that in mind, you should save the course cost ($600 but will likely increase) over several months instead.

Here’s a tip for when you sign up – you can leverage copywriting itself to cover the course costs. That’s precisely what I did within the space of three copywriting gigs. Two small and one medium, which also included the costs of Designrr – see the review here. Hopefully, this will inspire you to save up, sign up, then meet the course costs.

Tip#1 – For COMPREHENSIVE COPYWRITING ACADEMY Members: Watch the module about paying for your course with Facebook Ads.

I’m Working as a Copywriter and Content Writer –

I like to consider myself a man who wears many hats, an owner of several caps and a fan of figurative language. In addition to Learned Bear, Outline Copy, and Move, Store & More, I’m also a freelance content and copywriter. We’ll discuss scaling income more next, but it’s worth noting the difference is potentially staggering. This is more about providing aspiring writers with what life as a freelancer is like.

Before embarking on the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy, I wasn’t aware how many options copywriting enables. The function of copywriting as a medium is far broader than I imagined before signing up. By working my way through the course, the was a shift in mindset. I lost my natural tendency to talk myself out of taking action, which is one of my less favourable character traits.

Now I’m naturally inclined to test things out and evaluate, rather than the flipside. Here’s one for my fellow introverts – I still don’t like pitching or trying to ‘sell’ things. That’s why we started Learned Bear – to promote products we use and know, rather than peddling things we have zero affiliation with. One of the deeper benefits of the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy course is 100% the new opportunities and losing pointless fear.

Tip#2 – Comprehensive Copywriting Academy will help you step out of your comfort zone without changing your personality

Scale is Everything: I’m Working My Way Upwards –

No matter what business we’re discussing, scale is everything, and we’re typically looking for moving upwards. When you first begin a new career, starting at the lower end is the norm. As time passes and you learn new skills, you should also receive more money. Eventually, there is usually a ceiling for most professions, and it’s no different for freelancers.

Unfortunately, the invisible ceiling for content writers is surprisingly low, which is where incomes stagnate. Some of this is due to the gig economy sites like Upwork and co. who has either consciously or unknowingly given rise to people reducing rates to bargain-basem*nt levels. We suggest using Fiverr instead for any content writers out there if you’re considering using these sites. You have more agency in setting your rates and branding.

Let’s forget about aiming for the lowest hanging fruit because the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy can elevate you out of the minor leagues. Copywriting and scale become a different ballgame altogether. You can earn double, if not triple, for an SEO content article, just for a point of comparison. And that’s the lower end of the spectrum. Once you start hitting sales pages, the sky is the limit.

Click here to watch or read an interview with a Comprehensive Copywriting Academy graduate where they give insight into making + $100,000 annually. Another resource to check out is Filthy Rich Writer article, where they break down that into $8,500 monthly. My personal take is that you can also look at the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy to supplement your income. I tend to take on one copywriting job per month, content articles and affiliate marketing.

Tip #3 – Read more articles about scaling up to $100,000.

You Can Create Your Unique USP in Copywriting –

Like any business, your copywriting venture will become a brand of its own. There are plenty of tried, tested and successful copywriters who use a more personalised approach. The clean, professional pallet (often light pinks, creams, and green tones) will be instantly recognisable, but it’s not the only option. Your design branding will accompany something equally if not more important – your USP.

The USP is your unique selling point, something most marketers will be familiar with. This might put off new aspiring writers or soon-to-be-former content writers. Many mention that they’re uncomfortable with the USP aspect because they don’t have any experience. That’s what makes the USP different from a portfolio – it’s about YOU.

It also means you can tap into your previous work and personal experience. Do you have x-number of years’ experience as a teacher or engineer? Perfect, use it. You’ll soon start to realise that what you see in life’s rear-view mirror can help you move forwards. This is relevant to copywriting because every industry requires it, and you can nudge your old contact list.

Tip #4 – Start thinking about points to include on your USP

Without the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy, Learned Bear and Outline Copy Wouldn’t Exist –

Learned Bear has its own USP: we promote products and services we use or have used. My initial meanderings into affiliate marketing didn’t quite pan out. That’s because I couldn’t fathom how to grow an audience for products or services I didn’t use or care that much about. You won’t find many or any salesperson bones in me, and selling doesn’t come naturally.

I might talk a lot but don’t possess the ‘gift of the gab’, no matter how many times I previously went down this route. Whether it’s a curse or a blessing, I simply can’t spin something that’s not true or authentic. The choice was to walk away from affiliate marketing or find a different approach. Then it became clear – why not promote what I use?

This is where the deeper benefit of the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy came in handy. Not only did I have all the skills necessary for marketing, but there also wasn’t a need to oversell products or services I use and know. I now had a different attitude toward starting a new venture. Some call it confidence, but I still have the same doubts and fears, both for success and failure.

The difference is my mindset – and the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy had been a vital stepping-stone towards taking action, then evaluating.

Learned Bear Recommends the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy –

As you might’ve guessed – we’re putting our Learned Bear seal of approval for the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy. Feel free to accuse me/us of bias – I agree with you completely, and that’s why we’re promoting our bias. This has been a very personal article because it needs to be. I honestly believe this course shaped a lot more than my writing career.

The truth is that copywriting is relevant in nearly every singly industry. I would be hard pushed to think of a business sector where it’s not relevant, and every business requires some form of copywriting. That takes away this inherent over-saturation, which often crops us from newer writers. Are they entering a market that’s flooded with the competition? The answer is a firm no because there’s an endless number of sectors where your skills are needed.

To any aspiring writer – you have skills and life experience to leverage this in your favour. And as I said to someone who recently inquired about the Comprehensive Copywriting Academy and mentioned a slight fear regarding skill: Copywriting is approx. 15% writing ability and 85% perseverance. And if you’re already writing content, you have nothing to fear about improving.

That’s it for another Learned Bear article. It has been an enjoyable blog to create, and I hope it provides some details about this amazing course. We’ll be back with more content soon, but please feel free to email me with any questions about this course.

I’ll be adding a course preview video to our Comprehensive Copywriting Academy landing page soon, so keep an eye out for updates.
