Superfood Hot Cocoa

9 Fun Chocolate Drink Recipes to Give a Try ... (1) Let’s start with one of my favorite fun chocolate drink recipes, which is what I call Superfood Hot Cocoa. Think of it as hot chocolate, but with a little extra punch and power! It’s also sugar-free naturally, and incredibly healthy. The best thing is, it’s both calming and energizing at the same time, and aids with focus and mood. Superfood Hot Cocoa features not only the superfood raw cacao, but also a couple other raw superfoods that are truly amazing for you, and so energizing too! Enjoy!

Serves: 1
Ingredients:
1/4 cup almond milk, unsweetened
1 cup water
1 tsp. cacao powder (raw)
½ tsp. maca powder (gives a mild caramel flavor rich in antioxidants and hormone boosting properties)
cinnamon
stevia

Directions:
Boil the water on a stovetop, or run it through a coffee maker to warm it up. Meanwhile, add the almond milk, stevia, cacao powder and maca powder to a large mug or coffee cup. When the water reaches a boil, or finishes in the coffee maker, pour it into the mug, whisking slowly, so everything combines. This might take up to a minute or so. Just make sure you don’t have any clumps. When everything is combined, top with the cinnamon and enjoy!

Zucchini Chocolate Banana Smoothie

9 Fun Chocolate Drink Recipes to Give a Try ... (11) Dont’ knock it til you try it! Believe it or not, many people use zucchini to bake with in chocolate cake because it lends a creamy texture that’s utterly tasteless. In this fun smoothie recipe, you can get in your veggie intake, plus the banana sweetens things up. It makes a really creamy smoothie as well, so if you get tired of spinach in your green smoothies, how about giving this a shot? Chai Spiced Hot Chocolate

9 Fun Chocolate Drink Recipes to Give a Try ... (17) I love the warming flavors of chai, which has cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom and nutmeg. Chai tea is a mix of those spices combined with black tea, and when added to chocolate, you get a phenomenal flavor hit in one drink. This hot chocolate is great treat if you love both hot chai tea and hot chocolate. Try it next time you need a little extra warmth and comfort, or just have a serious chocolate craving!

1 chai tea bag
1/2 cup water
½ cup your choice milk
2 tbsp. cocoa powder
sweetener of choice
